This gentle fawn defeated the odds when it was delivered three weeks early by caesarean section after his mother was tragically killed by an automobile. Rupert (as he was named) was just six inches tall and weighed only 500 grams. When he gets older he will grow short antlers, usually four inches or less, and use them to push enemies off balance so he can wound them with his two-inch upper canine teeth. We have a feeling the Rupert will be a fierce fighter when he gets older despite his small stature. With his unrelenting will to live this little guy has proven he plans to stick around for a long and full life.
